Lock picking is rather challenging, many people look at it as your attempting something illegal and bad - but in reality its just like going fishing - something of a challenge and you need good gear to do it well. (of which I don't and am not very good).

The lockpicking lawyer on youtube however is an excellent picker - as are there plenty of other locksport tubers from the UK.
Have a look on their channels and see what they reccomend - if its under £20 then its not really a good set.
Mine is cheap chinise rubbish so I need something better.
What is good though is the vice - always handy to have one. As is an old electric toothbrush and an open mind.
Be careful not to have them on you if your likely to get stopped by plod, they wont see locksport as a thing and only think of you being on your way to a burglary.

BTW - did you see a recent episode of Silent Witness where the guy (Jack I think) opened a lock without the use of a tension bar - well he must be a real expert lol

Expect some on here to consider you in a bad light and think you only want this for nefarious reasons.... you have been warned :)

Yes, I saw the recent addition of Silent Sh*itness, yeh Jack is a Wizard. ..

I think for those sceptics, this isn't an interest born of corruption, more of an interest of an inquisitive mind, call it a puzzle, as lock Picking is.

Having had all my tools stolen from my van I am extremely aware of the disruptive nature of being a victim of theft and would not want to be the person that causes this stress in another.

For me it would be a distraction from the stresses of self employment, a bit of fun in a puzzle. And that's it.

I once fixed a very expensive monitor for a guy at work, all I wanted for doing it was some old locks so I could practice - should have seen his face - I never got them lol

The suction vice Aldi do from time to time is very useful.
I have one of those very cheap see through locks from ebay, what a load of carp it is.

Do a jigsaw

Locksport is like fishing, golf etc.
It's a challenge.
Except this challenge can be done in the home while isolated...

Maybe not, but the caged court in the park (ideal for letting the dogs off without the hassle of others) has a cheap abus padlock on it now.... lol

Thought about getting in to this at one point but couldn't get excited enough about it as there is a lot of suspicion and negativity attached to the subject which you can't shake off even if you have the best intentions yourself.
I think - got for it. You're only going to know by having a go.

Whenever I lost keys i always managed to get in.
Sledgehammer, bolt cutter, blowtorch and once a paving slab.
Do these tools qualify as lock picking accessories?
