Advice for fixing garden brickwork

Hi all,
We have a brick wall in our garden, which kind of supports a walkway above it, but it's in need if some TLC. I think standard pointing will do for the most if it, but there is one bit that I'm not sure if just filling it with mortar is ok.

I've attached a pic of the offending peice of brickwork. Can anyone recommend how I should go about fixing this?
I dont really care about aesthetics as it will get covered by a fence, but just want to add some strength.

I tend to agree with you... it was done before we moved there, the builder seemingly put this wall around the house then filled in all the space with rubble, and paved the top!

We really don't want to rip it down and start again. We haven't the money for that size job.

Ok, all I would do then is replace a couple of bricks in that corner to correct the bond (looks like a dwarf wall came off that before the walkway was built)

Then like you say give it a good pointing (good luck getting down the side!), it's clearly been there a while so must be pretty solid

Will look nice once clad

If you struggle with a trowel then you could just squirt in some resin.

Personally I'd just leave it, it's not going anywhere and probably provides a drainage path for water that will build up inside the wall. If you do point it up then drill some big drainage holes at the bottom of the wall.
