hiya Guys, i need some re pointing doing on our house soon, and i wondered what the going rate is, is it worked out by the sq meter, or is it just what the builder fancies charging you? i would have thought about 6 or 7 hundred, its three walls that need doing, we are in south Yorkshire if that makes a difference,

Brother in law had his two bed semi down last year and it was perhaps a bit more. Done by one man and took a week.

His next door neighbour employed someone else who turned up with three of them all with grinders and did the same work in a day for less.

Wouldn’t hurt to get a few quotes is my thinking

I'd be more concerned about the standard of work than the cost - seen some truly dreadful "professional" pointing jobs near me.

My house was scaffolded for roofing, the roofer boss spotted an opportunity and sold me repointing, only one wall was bad (facing the afternoon sun) and his lad did it off the scaffold when the roof was finished. Took a couple of days IIRC. Little diamond grinder and lots of dust.

As Nose said that price will only get you the scaffolding.
You can't do that job off ladders these days.

When you say repointing, are you just wanting it "buttering up" in places or do you want the whole lot grinding out and repointing in entirety?

If it's the latter, I'm also in South Yorkshire and paid around £3k for a similar job a couple of years ago.

I was thinking about getting it all done, instead of patching up, just get it all done in one go
