Panic buying

I haven't yet, but do intend on planting some potatoes and sowing some seeds for other veg soon ...

Although, things should settle soon ... all those that stock piled will start eating their food and forget to go shopping, leaving tonnes of fresh produce rotting on the shelves.
That's going to take ages.. hopefully everything will return to some sort of normal by the time they're ready to harvest! Flippin well hope so..

Try the smaller shops, on Sunday mine still had most things.

Time we stopped calling it Panic Buying. It's just buying now. The food shops can stay open, but as more people go into isolation, the whole supply network suffers and shops cannot put stuff back on the shelf. And don't forget, 50% of our food comes from the European mainland, so if the borders close we'll be in real trouble.

Ive noticed bog roll is getting re stocked but rice and pasta seems to not get replenished, so maybe these are running out in the distribution warehouses.

Time to take on the wartime mentality: Grow more home-grown food.

"Dig for Victory!", I think it was.

The more stuff we can produce ourselves the better.

Yes, be good - however, it's too early yet and the shelves are empty right now! :)

Just back from Sains and that was even worse than tesco. I'd say the whole store was about 75% empty. Be ok if could survive on easter eggs though, loads of them!

only 3 rolls of bog paper left, so as to keep them for the wife, I went on the newspaper the day, a bit rough and it don't flush that well, but it does the job.

Just stand in the bath and use the shower..
Indians just use a bottle of water as they don't have millions of bog rolls like we do.

I used to buy hand cleaner squirty bottles from Sainsbury for use at work in the toilet - £1.25 a bottle. All I could see yesterday was some poncey eco-friendly stuff in Waitrose at.....£12.50 a bottle!

Bog roll, nappies , and fresh meat are all getting stripped quicker than they can restock around here.
Sainsbury last night.no bog roll.meat.milk.bread.v little tinned food.v little anything edible....

You should see my local shops. All food gone from Sainsburys. This is not an exaggeration or me taking shots at clever angles. They ran out of food.

This was last night. On Sunday afternoon the fresh veg/fruit and fresh meat was still pretty full, but it's all gone now. Tins, cereals, flour, sugar all gone too. I stopped taking photos. There is loads of whisky still. I did manage to get the last pears and a cucumber - there were loads, must have just had a delivery.

My trolley. That is all I managed to buy. Wife and kids not happy!

On the plus side, I might be effectively unemployed within a fortnight and not have any money to pay the mortgage and bills, let alone food.

Exactly the same at ours last night.. when did people become so selfish? I knew it was going to be bad going in when saw people leave with nothing.

I hope your job situation improves.. gulp. Last night they said something about a 3 month mortgage break, but that doesn't help with everything..
