What have you been doing today?

I have faulty glow plugs but I didn't risk trying to remove them. I think the van will be going this year. Too many things going wrong with her now.

Got home and noticed a few messages from my mum, in isolation, who tells me her dog has been sick this afternoon and can I take it up the vets? No I ****ing can’t - give it a day and see how it goes.
Took my elderly neighbours cat to the vet yesterday. It's no bother - just dropped off outside and picked it up the same way when ready. Paid over the phone, standing outside. Hardly any contact.

I would have thought the van would start well enough, as the weather is getting a bit warmer, Andy?

Today I ran the Tesco’s gauntlet......shopping for us, a 93 yr old next door, a blind guy and a terrified girl next door other side.
No real problems, I was masked and gloved, sterilised  as I went in, sprayed myself with Dettol spray on departure. Plenty of supplies, one person out, one person in. The checkout staff had no masks so suggested screens, masks or visors to the management.
Parking every other bay, and a trolley queue for half an hour.
Picked up a tractor tyre on the way home, told to ‘pish off’ if I should need to return, and sent out two bills.
Its not a good idea to hold ones breath for payment in these parts
John :)

The trouble is that the power train light has come on the dash and according to a code reader, it said faulty glow plugs.
Also, I tested them for OHMS and they all failed.

Hmmm that’s a bit of a bore.....you could always try a bit more force but you don’t want the bloody things to snap
The specialists use an impact driver and socket and leave it to work for maybe 30 mins or so.....eventually the things tend to surrender but I’ve never tried it.
John :)

Ah OK, I know Vivaros were renowned for glow plus snapping off when removed, water leaking from the air intake laying where the glow plugs went into the block caused them to rust and weaken, well, that and the fact their French..

Only recently French though, aren't they?

Well, so far it’s made a miraculous recovery. Typical of my mum to panic panic panic and expect me to drop everything and blue light it up to the vets! Just as well I didn’t. If I had to take it, I would have hoped things would be a bit different - sounds like your one has it all sorted. (y)
