Asda Online Shopping

now the slot i know is because off annual pass and reserved regular delivery
another thought
i think they may know i am 66 but have never played on the "vulnerable"card as far as i can remember ??yes i have had bowel cancer once removed zero follow up treatment or medicine so 6 years on whilst it could come back its no more likely than a new one
any way the point i am making is i am assuming my deliveries are without favour so same as everyone else but may be i am noted as vulnerable in the system so may get different treatment to others with out knowing even though i am able and need no extra help or consideration (y)

Hi STFF

I booked the delivery 3 and a half weeks ago.

At that point, they were showing weeks ahead on their delivery calendar, but now (as you know), there are just a few days showing.

I have just looked at all the supermarkets' delivery slots and cannot find a single one (Waitrose, JS, Tesco, Morrisons, Asda, Ocado and Iceland).

Yeah, I know - to get one now is just pure luck imo. I've my asda delivery coming Tues and I also booked it 3 and a half weeks ago! Someone told me that tesco release their slots at midnight - I've not tried and don't know if it's true but thought worth a look for yourself?
And, hope you don't mind me saying but I seem to remember you having some health problems. Can you see if you can get yourself on a list? Some supermarkets are being given a list of vulnerable people and giving the slots to them.

on the Tescos site, there are 3 buttons with date ranges -at midnight they all move forward by one day. However as soon as it gets towards midnight the Tescos site gets clogged and you get stuck in a holding page, if you are very lucky you might get a slot available but 99% of the time when the page finally refreshes there are no slots available.

maybe some computer geek knows a way to get ahead of te queue but I certainly dont.

Ive found the odd slots become available on Tescos during the day, anytime form mid morning to around 7 pm. But you have to sit on the computer continuously refreshing the page and clicking every option -weve got slots that way, but it requires persistence.

those us that get online deliveries that have been picked from customer fulfillment centres are more likely to get their full shop. Slots earlier in the day are more likely to get most items.

Had our delivery tonight.
Really ****ed off.
I had every item set for substitution.
Yet 44 items were absent from the list and were not substituted.

was your delivery picked from store or customer fulfillment centre?

online deliveries for evening slots picked from a store are most likely to be missing lots of items as theyve been picked from depleted shelves. early slots are better....and yes I know any slot is better than none

I don't know! Is there a way of finding out?

Have looked a my order list and against every item it says "yes" for substitutions.

they only way I think is to google search the location of fulfillment centres -there is a huge one 5 miles from me in Crawley, so I know it comes from there.

the cost of picking in store is far higher than from a fulf-centre, so if there is one locally to you they are bound to use it.

Well, if it makes you feel less alone, we've 42 items missing - just got an email of what's not coming from Asda in a few hours. Typically it's the stuff we really needed, like cat food. Means been waiting 3 and a half weeks for a handful of veg, a bit of meat for the other half, cokes and water!! Nevermind.

Thanks Ceres. I'm new to online shopping and just got the only one I could get.. although I look now and then, there's nothing ever available elsewhere but I think I'll leave em now to those who need them more anyway. I also wanted Asda because the cat was brought up with the original owner on Asda own cat food and although I've been trying to get her to eat better quality (not only because she'd fart so bad we'd leave the room on it!), I've not been able to get the good stuff since all this started. At least their own food was going to give me something else to feed her with! Cat's are stupidly fussy.

I was reading reviews for Morrisons last night - and it looks like they've put their prices up really high since this started. I checked a few key items and they're more expensive than all the others now, even Waitrose. Three of the items I checked was 60% more.. Daft move - people don't forget imo and pretty cruddy of them to do this at this time.

Asda home shopping is not done at a distribution centre where they have all the stock etc.
It's done by a team of pickers who have to walk around the store, the same stores that are currently still short of stock on many lines.

Currently it must be much more of a poop job than it normally is - knowing that what the customer wants - they cannot have and there is no substitute.

That's right - been reading reviews online that say that they've popped into the store just after the delivery of their order to go get the missing items themselves. The items are on the shelves... so sounds to me that the staff are too busy to complete orders at the mo.
