All that may be true, but if the measure of a test being performed is a test kit being sent out, that's very different to the test kit being sent out, used, returned and processed.

Not that much different really. The people who swab don't process. Once things move from being totally in hospital samples travel. A lot of those have been done.

Sending one out without a return label maybe Amazon are packing and distributing. sh#t happens.

I wonder about turn round time to some one actually getting a result. Also that a proportion of testing has shown negative, repeated same result and then found the person has got it. Cat scan was mentioned. Also mention of them being used in Italy. Uk - seen shots of X rays around.

The government has changed the way it is counting the number of covid-19 tests carried out in a bid to hit its target of 100,000 tests per day by the end of April, HSJ can reveal.

Previously, a test would be counted once the sample had been processed in laboratories. But this definition has been changed in the last few days, a senior source told HSJ.

The Department of Health and Social Care is now including tests that have been posted or delivered to people’s homes in its figures. This means tests which are sent to people are counted before the recipient has provided and returned their sample to a laboratory.

27k went into the post. Xk need to travel to be processed, drive in and mobile. They have reported number of tests this way all of the time since some needed to travel.

Yodel seem to have got them out of some hole and RM used.

Talk of further expansion. One new lab next week.

Nothing to do with the brief but other countries have found that some people can need up 19 tests and it's often not just one when infected.

How do you get to a state where you're testing 80k people but doing 120k tests? Are we still processing multiple days backlogs? If not, why are we testing some people twice in a day?
