I've been playing with my lathe and made a salt pig. Didn't know it was called that when I made it, just trying different things, and ended up making something which my wife says is a salt pig. Apparently she will put salt in it and use it when cooking. Won't get much use then as she uses very little salt when cooking! LOL
Conny, are you a woodwork by trade or doing it for a hobby?

Purely hobby Andy. Last time I was near a wood lathe was in high school in late60's early 70's and that was to brush it down after a demonstration by the woodwork teacher.
My wife bought me a small lathe last year as a semi-retirement present so reading books/watching YT on how to use it.
Used to be electro/mechanical maintenance engineer.
