Fitting sofa through front door.

Hi, Just wondering if anybody could give me any advice.

I'm looking to buy a 3 seater sofa, the problem I've got is, im not sure if it's going to fit through my front door.

My front door dimensions are:

Height - 73" (186cm)
Width - 29" (74cm)


The sofa's dimensions are:

Height 37" (94cm)
Width 78" (198cm) (This is going to be the problem if anything)
Depth 35.4" (90cm)

Obviously the sofa is bigger than the door, in all 3 dimensions. Do you think it would be possible with maneuverability to fit?

The legs allow for a bit of wriggle factor if it is a very tight fit in the door

my little house on the IoW has a narrow door, its quite common there. You can lift it off the hinges from the inside which gives you a few more cm. Is that an option?

There are many returns ( daughter work in finance for furniture company) she is always processing refunds for failed delivery due to access problems.
My corner suite had to come in thru patio doors as would not fit thru front door .

Not all front doors are the same size.

If the height of the sofa is 37 and the depth 35.4 then drawn as a triangle the distance from the centre of the hypotenuse, (the longest side of a right angled triangle), to where the 2 sides join at the 90 degree angle needs to be shorter than the width of your door. (Sorry not the best at maths but sure someone here can work it out). The length of the sofa is immaterial because you don't need to fit it through on it's end.

I'm not so sure about that, we have a two seat sofa that will only go through a doorway on end.
The back fits through first then pivot it around for the rear legs to clear .the critical measurement is from where the arms meet the back to the end of the rear feet is less than the door width.
