200 mph

I understand hydrogen trains are available. One was shown on TV made in Germany. Years ago ordinary engines were adapted to run on it mostly via metal hydrides. The train looked like it used a tank of it and fuel cells. Hydrogen power usually finishes up producing water H2O ;) maybe we will de oxygenate the planet and make the oceans rise.

The electric vehicle future might not be as bleak as I mentioned but seems to be at the moment.

Debeeching railways, cars out of cities. As people may realise of late politicians saying something doesn't mean it has happened or will for that matter. Some of the comments on the brief sounded like the UK has been transformed during lock down while traffic levels are low. This sort of end result does seem to be what they are after.

The motors behind him who. Incidentally pay road tax to be there
Some do not pay the ""road tax"" ..many cars are exempt.. Also,as pointed out many times no such thing as a ringfenced road tax anyway

Er no

Went past a cyclist going the other way today there must have been a 20 car tail back behind him

And what was he doing?

Nothing of consequence were as all. The motors behind him who. Incidentally pay road tax to be there

Were trying to do. There jobs / work

Whilst this bloke is on some jolly

Incidentally caravans should also. Be banned off the road between the hours of 6 am and 10 pm

How do you know what the cyclist was upto .."jolly..commuting ..whatever .Has equally as much right to be on a road as any vehicle...You want to tax pedestrians for crossing roads???

Cyclists do need sticking in cycle lanes on roads that carry traffic. They have no justification for setting the pace of other road users.

I'm expecting that problems with bicycle use in pedestrianised areas will come to the fore eventually. It all ready has in some respects on pavements.

I've no problem with cyclists on the roads, as long as they don't try to slow traffic up with misplaced "defensive" cycling. There is some bad theory out their being touted as "cycle-craft" written by John Franklin. it borrows techniques from Roadcraft many of which get incorrectly applied or misunderstood.

It makes a lot of sense on a motorcycle as they can keep up. Even the phycological aspects often work.

;) Some one on a push bike would probably fall over if they tried a life saver.

Sadly the level of understanding of what is allowed behaviour when cycling on the roads is very badly understood by most drivers. Possibly in part because of the historically lower standards older drivers had when passing their horse drawn cart tests.

Given that, adopting anything other than a primary position during busy times on the road can be dangerous and scary as hell. Whilst arsehole drivers may be a minority there's enough around to make life unpleasant.

As for justification? The highway code says you can. So :p

Umfortunately aŕsehole stupid car drivers are quite common and ajohns attitude sums it up for many of them..wasting a few seconds of their time is much more important to them than considering a cyclist's welfare

The car driver does not see the pothole, debris, etc No choice sometimes..Either be bold or killed/seriously injured..""slow down traffic"" ffs.... god forbid a car has to brake for a cyclist and be delayed seconds

That's why their insurances premiums are so high compared to newly qualified and younger drivers.
