Problems with multi tool engine

The BG94 stilh tool has been causing me problems since I bought it. Should I upgrade to the bigger model? before it was lack of power and carburetor needed cleaning. Now it won't even start.

The KM94 has easily enough power to drive the tools in the extender range - assuming it is in reasonable condition and hasn’t come from a local authority auction.
Start by giving it a new sparking plug and a new air filter element.

Here's a wee tip to try when you are trying to determine the health of a two stroke engine.
Remove the exhaust silencer (on a Stihl its either a Torx 27 driver or an 8mm socket) then look down the exhaust port so you can see the piston and rings. If there's any sign of scoring - other than the lightest of marks on the piston - then the piston and barrel are knackered. Damage here is inevitably due to poor quality oil or no air filter, allowing debris to enter the engine.

I've taken it in for repairs. Thinking about buying the bigger four stroke engine. I've got all the stihl multi tool bits so a bit reluctant to switch over to hudqvana right now. Although I know they're better

The four stroke engine (Stihl 4-Mix) is a strange item, although it works perfectly well.
Its a four stroke engine but uses an oil mix in with its fuel, so it's total loss and does produce some smoke.
It's less polluting though as has only half the power strokes of a two stroke.
They are good starters though.

Is it simple enough to mix the oil with petrol. I think I might have put too much in my two stroke mix

The best bet is to use Stihl's own lube at a 50-1 mix as recommended - its fully synthetic and its as good as it gets. Oregon is another favourite and handy because its coloured bright red - which shows that its mixed at a glance.
Too much oil and the machine will smoke like hell and drip from the exhaust - but it's easy enough to cure!
