Theoretical bs from Bobby Davro my god you would be an ideal Jehovah's candidate

Lets try this... yes the mechanic fixed my car

'Er excuse me i am offended i am not a mere mechanic i am a fuel injection specialist'

Oh sorry sir for my downright ignorant offensive language let me ensure i refer to your full title in future correspondence forthwith... (after i have referred myself to the complaints commission for investigation.)

List goes on.. you must make this sh't up, you're a windup on here and i keep getting hooked i know.

It's not even that sensible.

It's more that you call him a 'car mechanic' and he insists on being called a 'mechanic of car'.

Did you mean to say 'commission of complaints'?

For information, it used to refer to non-white people. Thus it harks back to the age of apartheid and severe racism, differentiating only between white people and non-white people.
That's not true.

During apartheid 'coloured' did not include the black people.[/QUOTE]

It's
If people are aware it's considered offensive, but they insist on its continued use, what does that suggest?

People of colour allows the differentiation between many different ethnicities, without conglomerating them into one category.

If people can't adapt to modern language, especially its sensitivity towards other ethnicities, perhaps they ought to question their own abilities.

why continue to use it?

To get them riled up.
Its their problem if they find it offensive. There is equally offensive they could call me back, but I won't be riled boyo.
And I wont snowflake around about it either boyo.

Precisely the point.

Absolutely no different than 'people of colour'.

I've studied this extensively.

My findings where that.
People of Colour is the same as Coloured People but the opposite way round. The "of" was put in to confuse those who have to question their own abilities.

I think there's possibly some confusion here - I don't think it's primarily about people taking offense. I think it's primarily about being grown up enough to challenge the white structures (including language) which are still causing BAME people to have less access to jobs, money, basic respect, healthcare, housing, education, etc etc. The consequences of this are (still) pretty horrific - being more likely to be attacked, to be unemployed, to be ill, to die younger, to be locked up, to die in custody, to be poor, to suffer from poor mental health etc etc.

When we lazily or provocatively use language which is demeaning or dismissive towards people who are discriminated against to such an extent that their lives are at greater risk than ours, then I would suggest that we surely are damaging or denying our own humanity.

Being grown up enough?
Who isn't being grown up enough? What's POC and Coloured got to do with it?

F sake all i hear is blah blah discrimination blah racist xenophobe, when in real life all i see is equality equal rights positive action etc, wherever i go. Not saying we can't improve but we haven't been so pro equality and anti racism ever!

Can you update Ryler please?

Apparently all he wants to do is rile up people, he doesn't care if he offends. Sounds awfully grown up eh.

years ago when worked on the railway as a driver [about early eighties then] i used the term packies not realizing it was in any way derogatory indeed if i knew it was in the least negative i would be horrified as i dont do negative to any great extent never mind in an evil way ??
any way the people concerned understood i had zero negative intent so was taken in the way ment as it should be
in that respect i was Nieve and wrongly informed so iff your intentions are to be offensive or possibly evil your words are wrong and need correcting including a penalty or punishment
iff you intentions are misguided with no ill intent or upset meant then no penality should be applied if a correct heart felt genuine apology is given when you realise it can be wrong and upsetting even if it takes several times till you remember:eek:
any way the point i am making if your "free speech "is being offensive or possibly evil it deserves being rained in with a heavy hand
if it is nieve or well ment a lighter hand should be used
