Boris takes one up the rear.

An Iraqi Kurdish refugee protesting about Turkey's presence in Syria.
The guy should be glad that he has been allowed here on our soil but no, he has to cause trouble!
IMO Turkey has rightfully created a buffer zone by stepping inside Syria as the Syrian Kurds together with Turkish Kurds set off bombs in Turkey here and there.

It should be painted yellow...

And bent around a bit...

After all borisconi is an expert when it comes to bananas, and it will be appropriate for the type of country the UK will become!

The RAF probably does need an air to air refueller, which is what this plane is. Given its military use, it doesn't much matter what colour it is but if it can also be used for the Royal Family and for promoting the UK around the world why not give it a UK theme paint job?

Do you not think that it will need a really quickie paint job if it's ever needed for real in a military function?
A red white and blue plane is really easy to spot, compared to a dull grey one.

Then why are planes, ships, etc painted in colours to help camouflage them, not to mention uniforms?
Why don't we paint all our war machines bright colours?

We aren't at war.
You seem to be forgetting the train of thought.
Why paint a military plane bright colours to make it easily recognisable, if and when we are at war.
BTW we are still undertaking some military duties.

I'm not forgetting anything sweetie.

It's a dual-purpose plane, primarily military, VIP transport when available. Its colour is irrelevant for the military use to which it is put in the present and reasonably foreseeable future. There are military operations ongoing. We are not at war.

The plane would be there anyway regardless of whether The Queen or Boris use it. Making public assets work harder seems like a sensible idea.

War or not its a crackpot vanity idea to paint a military aircraft red white & blue

And spending the best part of a million quid on a Buffoon Vanity Exercise is not.

Well, that's your opinion to which you're quite entitled. I'd never expect a rational balanced view from you on anything.

says the man who's in favour of spending the best part of a million pounds painting a RAF plane red, white and blue.

I'm in favour of getting the maximum use from assets we pay for and if that involves painting something that can be used for two separate purposes rather than sitting in a hanger unused, so be it.

There's value in a brand and branding else Virgin planes wouldn't have been red and Easyjet wouldn't have been orange etc. In the post-pandemic world promoting the UK brand around the world doesn't seem like a bad idea.
