If you think we came out better from any of them please, explain how.

Let's not mention it because we don't have any aircraft carriers with planes at the moment so would be hard pressed to repeat it.

Why would we repeat it

And who said we came out of any thing better

A deal was agreed with a flaky country

There all related to one another so u were having to negotiate with a puggled country

As always, the fishing issue is a red herring that is guaranteed to stir up the ignorant brexiteers...

It accounts for about 0.1% of UK GDP...

And most of the fish we like to eat have headed north to icelandic waters due to global warming...

But said ignorant brexiteers flaunt the issue as some sort of 'national pride' imperative...

Oh how easily they have been manipulated!

Yes but whilst some of our traditional 'catch' is heading north out of our waters, other fish, more valuable than cod, are also heading north into our waters from the south of us, much to the consternation of the French and Portugese, c'est la vie as they say in somewhere or other.

You're right, as a percentage of gdp, our fishing is nothing, but the EU and the French in particular are desperate not to lose a chunk of it, and as they've demonstrated in the 'negotiations', they really are very unhappy about it.

Why's that then?

Well. There were plenty of fish in tescos today

Hopefully once we lose the trade deals we have through the EU with the origin nations we won't end up paying more for them. Still Scottish farmed salmon should be good for a while longer.

Amusing to see the EU trade chief, Phil Hogan (Ireland) who was going to give us such a hard time in the trade talks has been forced to resign for breaching covid rules.

*snigger*

Meh...

The EU are negotiating on fish because they can.....we need them more than they need us.

I noticed you haven't commented David Frost has been pleading with the EU to allow UK hauliers access to EU.

For someone who (purports to) know so much about it, was your vote to leave basically pinning the tail on a donkey? :ROFLMAO:

More valuable to whom?

And all the EU is doing is making sure that the commitments made are upheld...

They have been totally consistent throughout, and are simply trying to hold the UK to the agreements that the UK signed up to as regards a nation leaving!

Besides, nobody forced UK fishermen to sell their quotas - it was a nice little earner at the time!

I say UK fishermen, but in reality it's England that sold much of it's quotas. Scotland kept most of theirs because the industry there is 60% of the UK total and they tend to look more long term!

As I said it is a red herring, but it's a convenient ruse to get 'little englanders' all hot under the collar so that they are distracted away from the really important issues where a few will be making a killing at our expense!

Are you suggesting that the UK should simply steal back rights they have sold off under threat of an intervention of an ineffective gunboat diplomacy?

We all know how 'successful' that has been in the past

I told you many times I was conned by the shysters flogging a bunch of lies.

I changed my mind because I realised I was on the same side as people like Ryler.
The vast majority of leavers are as uninformed as they were in 2016

I tell you what ask any Leaver to explain how the Single Market works......they can't, they hate the EU but they don't know why they hate. There's your 17.4 donkey tail pincers, right there.

What I find rather silly is brexers getting excited saying we will control our fish, when in reality the foreign vessels owning the quotas will keep access - there was some muttering about a % having to be landed in UK or some of the crew being English, but that won't happen.

The losers mantra.

It's reality.

Brexiteers were told the EU needs us more.....you were lied to.

And because you believed it, you now have unrealistic expectations.

From now on it's going to be awfully miserable being a brexiteer.......you can choose to get with the programme or be continually disappointed.

Your choice.

If you have and doctors prescriptions, I would say get stocked up now. The government have asked for 6 weeks of stock and the drugs suppliers have said NIL POINT.

And guess where 70% of our drugs are made or shipped through or component parts supplied from......

Enjoy

And in the case of No Deal, UK drivers will not be allowed to drive in EU, and no doubt, in yet another act of self-inflicted injury disguised as reciprocal action, EU drivers will not be allowed to drive in UK.
It beggars belief.

UK will catch all the fish they want (with the few boats they have), but can't sell it, even though EU want it.
