Judge is probably a fellow kiddy fiddler.

I think you will likely find the childs family is very dysfunctional to say the least and this case is not as clear cut as it seems. Unfortunately having heard a few nightmarish cases - there is a lot more that was going on then a simple rape of a child. How did he get to know the child? Where were the parents in all of this?

Not defending this disgusting individual but there is always more to the story.

I don't care how dysfunctional any family is, raping a child is exactly that, rape. I don't care if even the parents invited him to do it, it's still wrong and should be punished. There is NO justification, it worries me that you think there is any reasoning at all.

The guy got off when he shouldn't have.

Ps, the family are asking for a harsher sentence. Seems to me, they don't think it's good either.

Punishment or sentence never fits the crime Imho

U would get a harsher sentence for breaking the rule of 6

Deterents huh

Retribution is what is required

That little girl in Scotland that's a case that upsets me as she begged pleaded to be left alone

Her terror

Crying for mummy and daddy as she was repeatedly assaulted

That bloke would not be breathing if it was up. To me ;)

Same as that a hole who threw that little French boy off that roof

I would throw him off a roof

Repeatedly as well if the 1st one did not sort him

Gal wasn't defending or absolving the scrote, he was wondering on the wider scenario. As was I.

For the avoidance of doubt, I do not in any way condone what he was found guilty of.
Nor do I victim blame, or do the same for the family.

I do however wonder how the weirdo had the opportunity to be alone with a five year old.

I can't ever recall leaving my kids alone with adolescents at that age.

No one is justifying it- but we need a wider context. Would you leave your 5 year old with a stranger? Did he break into the house or abduct her ? The lack of any mention of this leads one to believe he was known by the girl and parents. These things do not happen randomly and in isolation and much of the story is left out.

But it's irrelevant.

I have worked on many a case involving child abuse.
There is a million and one methods to worm your way into a home and gain trust. You could also already be a friend of the family. Or a member of the actual family. This happens in all families, not just 'dysfunctional' families.
I could go on.

Everything really is irrelevant. Rape of a child should always be punished. There is no good message here, being so easy on him and certainly no deterrent for the future. If he's attracted to 5 year olds then that doesn't go away, certainly not with community service and a fine. There really is absolutely nothing that can explain/excuse/give an understanding why this judge was so lenient.
