Just cleaned out the hanging baskets and some pots in the back garden, all stored away until spring.

I’ve been watching Mrs Mottie doing the same from the warmth of indoors.

To be fair, she's in charge of the garden, I’m in charge of the allotment.

Watched my youngest play some half decent football whilst himself being watched by two Villa legends.

Just got off the phone to the owner of the farm we have booked for the New Year in the Peak District. She said that they are currently in Tier 1 so only 6 guests allowed (there are 11 of us plus 8 dogs) and if nothing changes, we can still have it if we want but only 6 will be allowed for half price or we can have a full refund. Obviously if it goes to tier 2 it’ll be completely out of the question as there are 7 households involved. This is our last chance at a holiday this year but I don’t think it’s going to happen. Oh well, at least we're all still living and breathing so a relatively minor Covid disappointment compared to the friends and families of the 43,000+ poor souls that have suffered far worse.

Laid new cushion floor in the front hall. It's only 2m x 1.5m so not very big but now looks much nicer than the uneven patio slabs that someone in their wisdom laid down. No thought about cleaning them when people come in with muddy shoes. At least now, combined with the coconut mat outside and a small non-slip mat inside, it should stay much cleaner in there.

CBR1000 2004 valve service yesterday, must be one of the first 8 injector motorcycles (4 in throttle bodies for low load, 4 in airbox for full power).

Horrible job, don't design them to be taken apart to put it mildly..

Booked dentist for an extraction tomorrow, last bit of broken tooth fell off today and it throbs a bit, I hope its my usual dentist, he's taken three out so far totally painless

All psyched up for extraction, he said he would but because of its position near the sinal cavity there is a slight chance of complications and a trip to hospital, so he put a temporary dressing in, no charge
