Agreed, Lithium and cobalt could be mined in a far better way than it is presently done. But even in the unpleasant way it is currently done, the environmental and humanitarian damage is just but a tiny fraction of the damage done by fossil fuels.

So it is ok to keep slaves in mines to fuel the feel good of driving a prius whilst giving yourself a pat on the shoulder for saving the environment.
BTW, as mentioned lots of times before, planet earth is a living thing and must be considered as a whole organism.
Measuring the exhaust gases at the tailpipe of a prius is wrong, simply wrong.
The environmental impact of a prius in its entire lifetime is way worse than that of an internal combustion vehicle.
To be clear, I'm talking about the whole process, from sourcing the material to build the car, all the way to disposing of it.
But after all, for someone having slaves mining lithium and cobalt is ok.

Nope, I never said that you may be racist. But I don't know another reason why anyone would be bothered. You either don't understand Black history month, or you have a simplistic view about it.

Black history month is nothing more than a celebration of the black lives in the UK. There's nothing wrong with it, there's nothing in it that takes away from someone being white. It literally is a nod to those who've done great things. You talk about equality - there wasn't equality in the UK!

Have a look next time you're about. Nearly everything you see - paintings in galleries, exhibitions, the statues etc are all celebrating white people. The history that is taught at schools in the UK is about white people mainly (though that is changing). You live in a white country, you see white celebration/identity every day. This is about the historically underrepresented black people who've done great things for the UK too and their history, and why not celebrate/learn about it? Why are you turning this into more than it actually is?

Sod you don't have to directly imply i am a racist it's those micro aggressions you use to question and imply, it's not ok but this is the problem with today's society its become the norm, people just don't realise they're saying it.. you may not actually be consciously acting as such its just how society has conditioned you to be, hmm where have i heard that before??

Look at my original post where did i say i had an issue, this was about me you made it about something else. Why didn't you just say yes equality for all, isn't that what this is all about? Which i entirely believe the majority of british people do, i don't mean 'white british' only as racism has no boundaries when it comes to colour.


Do you have a problem with other groups including white having a celebration too? Is that your issue here do you have something against white people white men maybe?

If i travelled to any African Chinese Spanish whatever school and my kids told me the predominant focus on their history was that country x and the ethnic spread of people was historically 99% the majority in historical times i wouldn't question it. I wouldn't say what about the black people, there must have been one at least 400 years ago why are they excluding? I would possibly say what about minorities can we focus on how they influenced the social and economical development of this country, hang on 1% of historical representation isn't right i want 50% at least or you too are a racist even though that is a misrepresentation. Seriously.

There are many many none white countries in this world i would bet have very little cultural balance in their teachings rights behaviours etc, doesn't make us right but i don't think the UK are doing too bad at all, and not as bad as many like yourself are led to believe, it also highlights the division you are spreading through your rhetoric, this arguably makes you part of the problem.

I say equal rights for all and no exclusivity we should all be in agreement surely to stamp out any racism?

The black pride and black power movements were a reaction to endemic racism. It's not hard to work out why there hasn't been a massive need for a white power or white pride group.

It's amazing how someone so old can miss this much of history.

I am proud of who i am. I don't need to include a colour, and it could be complicated. Im so proud of my friends my community and family again colour not included as i don't want to exclude anyone.

Maybe my great great parents down the line did once who knows, but they're dead and they have no influence on how i live.

You'll recall that quite a lot of governments have been overthrown, countries invaded, and wars started, by the Oil industry and their supporters.

Not to mention brain damage from leaded petrol, respiratory disease from diesel, and generations of death and injury to coal miners. In this country, in living memory, men were forced to work in coal mines against their will by government decree.
