The Quarrymen were a 5 piece, but no number 1.
Aren't they all endless? Was this on an endless conveyor belt ??
And talking of Steptoe and Son, Albert was the son in the firms name, the Steptoe was his mum.Did you know that Harry H. Corbett of Steptoe and Son fame was a Royal Marine in World War Two. After service in Europe in was posted to New Guinea where he fought Japanese and was involved in quelling civilian unrest. When he was further posted to Tonga he deserted and was picked up by the Military Police in Australia. Post WW2 he began as a serious actor on stage and when he became well know on the tv he added the H in the middle so as not to get confused with Harry Corbett the Sooty presenter. When asked what the H stood for he said 'Hennyfink'.
Albert was the dad,Harold the son.And talking of Steptoe and Son, Albert was the son in the firms name, the Steptoe was his mum.
In the programme, yes, but the firm was originally run by Albert (son) and his mother Mrs (Steptoe).Albert was the dad,Harold the son.
Very funny film.A great actor who was once mooted as being the British Marlon Brando, appeared in some very powerful plays before hitting the big time with Steptoe which then pretty much pigeonholed him in comedy roles.
Just a couple of weeks ago I watched this classic having picked up a copy a couple of years ago.
Did you know that when he was up for an OBE, the authorities forgot the 'H' and the Sooty guy got the award instead.when he became well know on the tv he added the H in the middle so as not to get confused with Harry Corbett the Sooty presenter. When asked what the H stood for he said 'Hennyfink'.
And did you know (probably, as it is quite well known) that Gary Oldman's sister was Mo in Eastenders.Gary Newman is actually two weeks older than Gary Oldman.
