Boiler combustion readings high

I'd appreciate some help with the following please:

Just had our boiler serviced and the guys have issued a warning based on the combustion readings being high.
They've stripped the unit down and cleaned the fan, which has markedly improved the readings but they say they're still too high.

They have not condemned the boiler.

So do I need a new boiler or do I see what happens when it's due its next service?

Well its pretty hard to say as not being there but assuming the hex is clear and burner pressures / flue looks ok . It could very well be that the fan is sluggish . Wouodnt even know if parts are still available on this one

Re-read the document. It says in big letters at the top DANGER DO NOT USE. There's a clue in that but it does sound like some more diagnosis is required before deciding to scrap it

The combustion readings were much less after he'd stripped and cleaned it all.
If it was dangerous it would not be in use

What was the combustion reading's.
Should ask for a gas rating, burner pressure and condition of flame picture. Technically do not have to use flue gas analyser on standard efficiency boiler

FFS, what a prat, he told the wife verbally and then she signed this without reading it, based on what he'd said.

So this is related to the output of the boiler going outside. He said it was better than before and it would be okay.

The notice is a warning and he didn't condemn the boiler.

What a prat you are indeed. The notice is a warning that your boiler is in such a poor condition that it should not be used. If it was OK, there would be no reason to issue the warning notice telling you that it's not OK. I realise this isn't the answer you want to hear, but it's the one you need to hear.
