Boris caves in on another deadline

It happens to be true.

Boris is indeed a stage name.

"Novelist and political commentator Robert Harris has revealed that they all call Boris “Al”, short for his actual first name Alexander, claiming he “is like some sort of public construct that is wheeled out” on non-family occasions"

I apologise for making you look silly.

Boris is his 2nd name, not a stage name. Like I said google it or use a dictionary.

The longer these negotiations drag out the greater the chance that anything that's agreed will fail because it hasn't had enough time to be vetted by all the EU nations. Or by parliament.

Just because Johnson says it must happen, it doesn't mean it will. That's probably true of Barnier but I don't follow him that much.

Negotiations dragging on are bad news for everyone.

If (as some on here have said) the EU have been clear since day one, are united, and have Barnier following their instructions, what will they need to vet?

They haven't specified every variation of the exact wording of the ratchet mechanism.

I believe Barnier simply won't pass a deal which he knows will get vetoed....on broad issues like fishing.

But I imagine each nation would need to read the details which isn't a 5 min job on something 600 odd pages long.

Some poor translater has got to put it into some 18 languages ......or whatever it is.

If that gets a deal.....it would mean every time this govt lower standards, the EU will stick on a tariff or 2.

That'll stop the Tories keeping stuff hidden.

Just because Johnson says it must happen, it doesn't mean it will.

Quite the reverse, in fact.

Die in a ditch, lie down in front of bulldozers, oven ready deal, no documentation for goods to NI, fifty thousand extra nurses, forsake all others so long as we both shall live.

Does this seem familiar

"We will negotiate a trade agreement next
year – one that will strengthen our Union –
and we will not extend the implementation
period beyond December 2020. In parallel,
we will legislate to ensure high standards of
workers’ rights, environmental protection
and consumer rights."

I'll give you a clue.

Somebody put it in their manifesto and fought an election on it.

"Get Brexit Done" my asre.

You missed the bit where you derive satisfaction from UK problems you perceive Jonnyboy..I derive zero..you hope the country fails.
