What have you been doing today?

Just finished off the last of the turkey. I chopped up the legs and made a turkey curry to freeze when it cools down. The fridge is starting to look empty now.

Very little, the house has the flu (not covid) so we are all doing little.

Been cursed (again) by my broken phone, and flaky replacement.
It's not tracking my rides on Strava, so I have been rinsed of almost 70k in the last two days.
(My feet almost got frostbite too today, after two hours of them being bathed in slush during my excursion)....

Having a ‘mare!

Came back from my walk, had a sneaky fry-up while Mrs Mottie is at work, ran the sink to wash up the frying pan, dashed to the loo to do a wee came back via the lounge and started watching telly. I then heard water splashing. Dashed out to the kitchen to see a waterfall coming off of my worktop. Bloody sink has no overflow and the plug was in the half bowl. Grabbed all the towels out of the airing cupboard and threw them everywhere. Then found out all the cupboards were soaked. Emptied them out, cleaned and dried them. Emptied out the washing powder box and dried that with her hairdryer and mopped up underneath the units. Bunged half the towels in the washing machine for a quick wash and went back to watching telly. Heard a beeping noise, thought it was coming from the telly so ignored it. Turned out it was coming from the kitchen and an alarm was going off on our washing machine. All it said was 'fault' and 'water inlet'. Looked in the gap between the machine and the underneath of the worktop and saw a puddle of water. Poked another towel in there using the kick board. Switched off and switched back on again. All good so far. First lot of towels are in the tumble dryer and second lot of towels are in the wash. Hopefully they’ll all be dried and put away before the Mrs gets home. Gonna be tight though!

That’s one of the milder names she calls me at times like this. Anyway, I cleared up with 5 minutes to spare. She’s sitting down watching Midsummer Murders, none the wiser!

You all have far too much excitement, I have spent my day logged into work and thinking about going to the garage to play with the new sprayer which keeps getting delayed by wine and chocolate.

Currently cutting down an apple tree.

Going to grow a plum tree in its place.

Dug out the steam cleaner and set to in the bathroom, moved the shower door and the bottom hinge came off, screws seized solid so they are overnighting in WD40, took the indicator stalk assembly off the wifes car stripped it down and cleaned some dodgy contacts , working a treat now

Your lucky to get away with hiding that - my misses would spot something like that immediately.
I’m sure she will when she looks in the cupboard and sees things in different places. I should have taken a photo before getting everything out.

Probably too late now but I would have considered trashing the place and telling the wife we'd been burgled.
