What have you been doing today?

On our daily dog walk today, me and a friend took a couple of litter pickers and picked up 4 bags of litter. All sorts - masks, gloves, bottles (plastic and glass), bags of dog poo, a filled child’s nappy and even a discarded sole of a hiking shoe. What was nice though was that several people stopped and thanked us. Going to do the woods tomorrow.

Been listening to Mrs Mottie moaning. It’s only just gone 10.30 and I’ve had her bending my ear about her poor working conditions. Too cold, poor lighting, kitchen filthy, toilet filthy, someone keeps making suggestive remarks about having her over the table, her seat is too uncomfortable ..moan, moan, moan. I reminded her, she’s the one that asked to work from home]
She will be striking soon Mottie!

Filled a bulk bag with tiles and plaster. Always amazes me how much stuff is on the walls...
Now got to work out how to get rid of it ... might have to leave it there until I do the bathroom, then get a skip.

I do this but nowhere near as I should... well done and thank you.. .

Ill make more of an effort soon...

I also think it encourages others to do other good things.

Ask if you can take a day off, unpaid leave.

Think I'll either slow down or keep quiet for now. Still got a shedful of safety courses to do on line. The manual handling one should be interesting.

"Take box of cornflakes from your cupboard and safely carry it across the room and place on your desk."
"Now take some cornflakes out and return remaining contents to the cupboard in a safe manner." What, in the box or individually?

The answer to that one is in your online RSI course;)

Thats one of the ones to be done.
On a happy note. My boss emailed me with a new TOIL sheet, (Time off in lieu), and said he has given me back the 3.5 hours I took on 23rd Dec plus the 4 hours I worked as we have been gifted that day as a freebie! :)

Going to do the woods tomorrow.
More litter picking today at Thorndon country park. We did the woods and got roughly the same as yesterday - two bags of litter, two bags of recyclables. A few weird finds: I found a full unopened 2 litre bottle of lemonade that someone had thrown into the bushes, a fair size Tupperware box with the remains of someone’s lunch that they couldn’t be bothered to take home with them and one, yes one, shoe. How do you lose a shoe?

My friend had a strange find too - one white stiletto type shoe and a couple of empty mini Prosecco bottles. Well, we were in Essex! Mind you, I did top the session with the worse find of the morning. At the base of a tree, nestled under a good few handfuls of tissue paper was....yep, you guessed it, a human turd. Yuk! Worse than the split and rotting dog poo bags I picked up. We got even more thanks than yesterday and one lady told us we'd go to heaven! I had to double bag my haul before putting it in the car though and I drove all the way home with the windows open. That’s it for a while, mission accomplished. (y)

You do more than most.

I don't think many would like to handle excrement (human or dog), let alone put it in their car!

I often pick up the odd bit of litter on a walk and it amazes me how many people DGAF!

All the dog poo's were in bags and the human turd was mostly contained in bog roll. Of course, I used my litter picker and not my hands. I didn’t want to leave it and many dogs, mine included, are scavengers and will happily gobble up other animal’s doings!
