Yeah thanks for that you ignorant f*****...
My pleasure. (y)
But should you find yourself in need of medical treatment in an EU/EEA country which your cherished private healthcare policy won't cover then I wouldn't shed any tears...
Why wouldn’t it? Never gonna happen. ;)
Whereas the EHIC does...
EHIC doesn’t cover worldwide travel does it? My insurance does. :p
Because private healthcare policies don't cover 'non essential travel' to areas subject to government warnings. That means holidays to the ignorant.
Why would I travel somewhere against government warnings? (n)

Looks like the EHIC is going to be replaced by the GHIC. I bet that’s a relief for Ellie and other UK residents that travel to the EU without insurance. Good ol' NHS, looking after us in Europe. Thanks Boris. (y)

Edit: Oh dear, just seen this in that link above. Sorry Lal, I don’t like coming down to your level but like you said to me, I won’t be shedding any tears for you either. Better get that private health care policy sorted. (y)

"GHICs and old UK EHICs only cover you in EU countries. They do not cover you in Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Switzerland".

The TV's actually showed the bare shelves a few days ago. ;) Maybe they emptied them first. Not little shops too. Big supermarkets. The way it was presented involved N Ireland but they also covered delays at other ports. N Ireland wrong paperwork and also fresh produce - fish related, lobsters etc taking to long to get to the EU so rejected. Ports just paperwork when correct.

So the report was a bit slanted really but not much.
