The Crocus Of Hope

Back to normal by Christmas
2021 :)

I don’t go in pubs
Or socialise as such

u never know who you will bump into or what will happen;)

Do you reckon that the "Roaring Twenties" was a reaction to the Spanish flu so then could we see something similar happen this year as a reaction to the pandemic so a sort of "release of pent up demand and frustration" in the form of increased economic activity
Yes, the 1920s were a reaction to Spanish Flu, so we may see similar. Clearly not everyone feels that way, but not everyone needs to.

Based on the number of old people out clogging up my running route (joke). I’d say lock down is already over. People were out having picnics At my local vin yards and taking in the warm spring air. It was lovely to see. However, the oldies do need to be respectful of social distancing until everyone else is vax’d. Though I suspect the risk of me catching Covid from a vax’d OAP is quite low.

It's difficult to predict exactly how people are generally going to react.

It's difficult to predict exactly how people are generally going to react. There's also a chance that the "new patterns of behaviour" could carry on such as being more isolated, staying at home more, going out less and doing more shopping online. People have learned to adapt so these newly acquired habits might be evident
Yes, very much.

Which side of things do you think is most likely a. Release of pent up demand of b. Carrying on of acquired new habits that could become permanent trends or perhaps a combination of them both.

Population is diverse, so a combination of both. There is a pent up urge to go to pubs/gigs/football etc that I see on my Facebook feed, but also, I know plenty of people who are perfectly happy to stay in doors. I also know people who fall under both these.

Also people who want to get out and meet people.

I no longer know many people who want to cram themselves in crowded pubs, but there are probably many still like that, its just I'm older now.

How much things change will be interesting. I think it could that some things change for a while, but over a year or two will creep back to as they were, but other thing will stick for many. Although remember that for many of us, it does us good to get out, so we may have to force ourselves out to do our mental health good.

Also a solution for all the people who have lost jobs or businesses.

There will be vacancies for millions of 'covid pass(port)' inspectors at every entrance to every public building.

Not necessary, existing barriers which prevent you shoplifting, could be utilized/installed.
So were you thinking of some kind of chip on a card in a wallet to signify that the person has got immunity?
