Is there much difference between the various manufacturers of 100mm rigid insulation boards? Kingspan seem to be at the higher cost around £55 for a 2.4m x 1.2m board, where as some cheaper ones come out at sub £42 inc vat. Am I missing something?

I'm about to purchase some too for my floor.
The cheaper ones seem to say suitable for floor use and have the same thermal conductivity rating?

For my roof I purchased the cheapest ones from roofingoutlet and they sent a more expensive make...I have a feeling its all the same stuff...

Just don't confuse PIR foam with EPS foam. PIR has approx twice the thermal value.

Do both types have the foil wrap on both sides or just one of them? How does one look visually different to the other, or do they look the same?

EPS doesn't normally come foil faced. It is made but I've never seen it on site. PIR foam is almost always foil faced and tends to be yellow/orange. The main difference is that PIR is a foam where EPS is more like millions of poly balls stuck together into a board. cheapest PIR is normally xtratherm.

Thanks. Anyone know where this can be bought for less than £42 per sheet (100mm 2.4m by 1.2m)/

That seems a good price - where is that from? Does it include delivery?

Doubt you'll beat that unless you find some on eBay/Facebook. I sold 8 and a half that I had left over on eBay for £250 a few weeks ago. The buyer used it in his work (insulating conservatory roofs) and said it was cheaper than he could buy it trade.

If it's pale yellow foam with foil on both sides, then its more or less the same.
