Tax & Spend Tories

You seem to be the thicko! First you are arguing that tax and NI payments are not stored (a little way above), now you are saying stored wealth. The government has no stored wealth at all, as such - it takes money in with one hand and pays it out with the other.

You really are thick.

I am not talking about the Government stored wealth.

But please explain this.

If you say you have paid your taxes and now should benefit from this extra spending - you didnt pay for this extra spending.

When this tax rise hits the extra income will be spent on social care - however your argument is it should not be because these young people who are paying into it should benefit from it when they retire. So why is this extra income being spent now.

Learn about Government finances, hint it's not like your personal finances.

None of the above would had made the slightest of difference to us. We only borrowed what we could afford. We could have borrowed for a new car, we could have borrowed for a new kitchen, new bathroom, carpets, curtains, three pieces suite, had holidays on our credit cards but we didn’t. We showed restraint unlike many today who want it now, now, now.

Did you borrow to buy your house?

So people consume something before they have paid for it - their home. So they shouldn't borrow then?

So what would you have done if you could have afforded to borrow for a new car, a new kitchen, new bathroom, carpets, curtains, three piece suite, holidays.... ?

He'd probably have travelled to South Africa as a white-skinned economic migrant.

Difference is, you HAVE to have somewhere to live. All the rest you can do without or buy secondhand.

If I could be guaranteed to make the payments for the whole of the term of the loan for all of them I would consider it but who knows what the future will hold? People that do that often end up with nothing but a lifetime of debt.

Well, when I did go in the early eighties, I could only go as a qualified person when there were vacancies that couldn’t be filled by indigenous people and before I could get a work permit I had to have a full medical including an X-ray for TB as well as having to have private health insurance. Wouldn’t it be good if the UK could adopt the same principles 40 years on for workers coming here? The company paid for my air fare and accommodation for the first three months too.

And you had to be white. Apartheid south Africa is a poor benchmark for any sort of ethical questions.
