Does anyone know of a CCTV system, which can be installed by a DIYer, that can operate on a noise activation of camera recording rather than motion detection?
I'm having trouble with neighbours noise, and I'm looking for a system to collect evidence.
A simple Noise Activated recorder is no good because it does not time stamp the recordings, and it lumps it all together as one file anyway.
A CCTV system with the appropriate functionality would be ideal, but I've yet to find one that works on noise activation.
It's frustrating because the capability exists, it's just a matter of sticking the right components together.
I've seen a DLink camera advert that offers such functionality, even to adjusting the noise level of activation, but a) I think it's an American one, and b) I think it's a monitoring option by a security company, and c) I can't find an appropriate recorder to accommodate it.
Ideally the system would allow the noise activation sound level to be adjustable, and ideally, the recordings would a) flag up as events on the recorder, and b) be searchable via fast forward and reverse, or be colour coded. Currently all recordings are silenced in the fast forward or revers modes, so finding a noise is like living every day as a Groundhog day. finding the noise in normal play mode, and noting the times, then repeating the same play, but with a file extraction or record function.
Finally, the system would need to pass security examination so the time and date adjustment must be reasonably secure, or logged, or accessible only by secure personnel.
