Thought I'd economise today. Instead of coffee for a fiver plus a bag, I bought this brand. £1.09. I can't taste the difference from my other stuff.

Four pots of living herbs from Sainsburys. £1 a pot. Basil, Corriander, Flat leaf parsley and Rosemary. Planted them in a pot, put it in the garden near our bench and we'll have fresh herbs all year. Smells nice too. (y)

New battery for a Dyson. They claim 12 month guarantee. I wonder if amazon will still list it if it fails. I think the original Dyson one lasted > 18 months. Often used as we have a dog.

Bought a 'pallet buster' this week, a glorified jemi if you like for ripping apart pallets, I've a few projects coming up involving pallet wood so thought I'd get one.

There’s a bloke over my allotment with one of those - he's always stripping pallets and making raised beds out of them.

A glass of wine. Nothing special, just Pinot. Served to me on my sofa in the cinema. Thirteen pounds, fifty fecking pence! I could have bought two bottles for that.

A new element for an electric cooker. £150 fitted to our oven in Spain. Keeps popping the breaker. Place is sold and completion is next month but can’t really let the Sweedes move in and not be able to cook their fermented herring on the first night!

Dashcam for the camper in readiness for our trip south, tongs for the BBQ, two OS maps
