Yes, there is a war on private vehicle owners.
There are too many cars on the road, and I would like to cut the number by half or more, but putting fuel prices up is not the way I would do it - because that punishes the innocent.
I would remove all illegal drivers; all those convicted of non-motoring criminal offences and all of Blair's 10 million, for starters.
Driving is a pleasure but a privilege and a huge responsibility. It is not a "human right".
