8 consecutive real days at over 40 degrees.
we’ve not had one yet.
stop justifying the hysteria , it’s pathetic.
It didn't need such long periods of hot weather to cause a spike in excess deaths.

There were other contributing factors that meant France was ill prepared, but it illustrates that just a few days can lead to a spike in excess deaths. Espeically when UK is not used to dealing with such levels.

It also adds to the already mountain of evidence that climates change is real.

then you wasted everyones time tagging the report in the first place, which specifically eludes to the fact that it was a sustained period of heat that caused the deaths. Now you come with a different story and another meaningless graph that could well have been compiled by a mental patient for all we or you know.
You are contradicting yourself.
If a few days of heat leads to excess deaths then that’s no suprise ,given the state of the elderly and health of the population in general.
There’s an equal number of mountains of evidence contradicting the bizarre climate theory also.
You quoted my post for what reason ? You’ve failed to respond or address anything that’s in it.

If you drill down further into french incident, we find:
0-1 very hot days excess deaths in over 75s: 1591
2-3 very hot days excess deaths in over 75s: 1390
4-7 very hot days excess deaths in over 75s: 3500
>8 very hot days excess deaths in over 75s: 5249

"Number of “very hot days”: number of days on which the minimum and maximum temperatures have simultaneously exceeded the corresponding 30 years average by respectively 5°C and 9°C between August 1st and 20th, 2003"

This is why they are aking a fuss about the hot weather.

So again, you are wrong. Its just not your day is it.

There’s an equal number of mountains of evidence contradicting the bizarre climate theory also.
We look forward to you providing it. I've asked you enough times.

Well who'd a thought it,

"Our analysis demonstrates >99% agreement in the peer-reviewed scientific literature on the principal role of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from human activities in driving modern climate change (i.e. since the Industrial Revolution)."

"Our results confirm, as has been found in numerous other previous studies of this question, that there is no significant scientific debate among experts about whether or not climate change is human-caused. This issue has been comprehensively settled, and the reality of ACC is no more in contention among scientists than is plate tectonics or evolution."

Spare a thought for the firefighters working in these extreme conditions, there are many farm fires at the moment that don't have the same high profile as the ones currently spreading in Essex and Kent. The big difference between now and 1976 is the recognition of the impact of global warming.

Blup

Had a courier delivery of one of our regular animal food sacks today & I asked the van driver to hold my fresh bottle of ICE COLD water as I squiggled my finger on his PDA. The look on his face meant that I could never take it back off him.

"Cheers Boss".

Today was HOT I will grant anyone that. That is, if you were out in the midday sun.

Well fortunately there have been experts on the tv and radio giving good advice on how to best survive this heat wave event

They have imparted pearls of wisdom on survival

Stay in the shade
Don’t go out in the sun
Keep hydrated , that means drink fluids
Draw yer curtains
Turn off yer central heating
Switch on air conditioning units
Don’t wear a coat or jumper

Experts lucky we have to impart there knowledge other wise how would we have got through it

Believe it or not there's plenty of people need telling...
...but not me. It reached 36 degrees here today and it was 42 degrees in my shed.
I'm off for a cool shower - it's about to rain here!

You can ask people to drive carefully when it snows, wear a seatbelt, not to drink and drive, slow down when pizzing it down. But the morons just keep on dying and proving old Darwin had a point. I'd heed their advice trans, some of that American tat you love is the most unsafe pile of junk on the planet.

More people die from cold weather than die from hot weather.

Because of this climate change nonsense our gas and electric are going up in price, and now that we have had a couple of scorching days the eco loons will want to ban this and ban that, leading to more gas and electric price rises...which will lead to more cold weather deaths.
