Liz Truss Said

She's saying if you actually get a job and pay taxes, she'll cut them.

Obviously, that raises concerns as to how the illegals and moochers are going to get all the free stuff.
Illegals and moochers (whatever that is) can't register for all "the free stuff"

She does sound like WW1 generals.
Blaming the troops for getting killed by machine guns because they lacked moral fibre.

They aren't in a position to steal it legitimately like say a Tory chum for instance.

Mixed feelings about her first PMQ. She avoided Osborne's corporation tax cuts which the Tory said achieved nothing so put back up again. She claimed more tax collected. Maybe in earlier times - pass.

Careful trap set on windfall tax. Asked specifically if she would ever do it - answer no. It may be a trap.

She handled it ok. The things she is going fix - short term possible, afraid I don't think so other than subsidising power. Rumour has it over this and next winter. Things may not be any different even then. We find out what she is going to do on this problem tomorrow. Business gets help too.

Labour - seems they argued against more north sea exploitation so that was thrown back at them. I'd guess they would be looking at more exploitation if they were in power. Both sides do this sort of thing. Fact is a number of intentions while this lot have been in coincide with Blare / Brown muttering. Brexit is the only clear differences,

Her answers on a tax on the fuel supply stream is handwaving, when everyone would want some accounting for the 170bn they make.
(£ or $? not sure - much the same.)
If it really is the case that profits are being ploughed back, prove it.

Cutting taxes will make a tiny difference to the poorest, who think they "can't afford to cook".

An idea I like for energy is to charge relatively less for the first units you use, and make it up by charging larger users more. That would seriously encourage higher payers to use a bit less energy.

She also said that British workers (workers note, not the feckless lazy or unemployed) were amongst the worst idlers in the world
That's right. She's a co-author, along with Kwarteng, Patel & Raab of Britannia Unchained.

A chat afterwards. 2 serious powers one from each party. Tory - they are multinationals and will simply move their taxation around> Labour they would have problems doing that with N Sea stuff. There has been one windfall tax. Tory reckons it wont yield much :) £1b.

Ian Duncan Smith and a lady who's name I can't remember - bright and an agile mind. A bit over weight.

Truss says much the same as before - puts them off investing here. Not that they do that much anyway - accoring to a report. Prices now are such that N Stuff has to be viable. From time in Dublin listening to nationalists there is a field some where around there that it seems the Brits wont let them touch. A concert to gain funds for the IRA etc. LOLDon't ask why I was there. Then is seems there is some around the Falklands.

Liquid gas. Frome visits to Pembrokeshire it doesn't take all that long to build a terminal. Even less to expand it. Ideal place. Deep water harbour and the length of pipe I am aware of runs in country side. It could be made larger but assume the pipe would need to be bigger. If countries start knocking these up I wonder what it will do to prices. Then the supply side - can they output more?

Surely it's better for the UK to become a net exporter of clean power?
Why continue with burning stuff when we have the wind to power the necessary turbines and the geography to run more reactor.

Going on the way that these areas appear to be paid for it wont be UK owned power. It will be owned by money fund who paid for it.

Yeah, this lot would privatise their granny if they could.

Ideally, govt would fund the infrastructure required and maybe (although not necessarily) outsource the management to the private sector with tightly monitored KPI's with financial penalties?

What do you mean by low margin?
The difference between the cost of doing vs the fee charged.

e.g. software support is around 70% margin, legal services 30-50%. Professional services in general 20-30%
Restaurants, hairdressers etc 10%

She needs a speech writer who will help her win friends including in the opposition parties. Her maiden speech on Monday didn't come accross very well at all; may have been (her) truth but even I thought you shouldn't be saying what was said in that manner.

Could you tell us how much these 'illegals' get in free stuff?

And could you define an 'illegal'?

The moochers are easier to spot. Boasting about getting paid for doing nothing is one trait...

But moochers don't care apparently (n)

we need to encourage people to work harder, country seems to be full of people who can't be arrsed - low and falling productivity.
No we need to get managers that can ensure the workforce are productive instead of producing paperwork & sitting in meetings all day.
