Given that the state is the primary beneficiary of new population, it makes sense the state should pay for that benefit.

The state has no money, apart from the money contributed by it's population and what they earn.
What you own can be confiscated by the state at any moment. Ask the russians how they know? What was his name again, that football club owner? You merely live in a bubble of fiction. But, don't let me burst it. I am not that cruel.
The aspect that they will never be entirely clear about. Actually there seems to be some background arguments about this area at the moment. Some feeling we need them to allow growth and to fix up certain areas.
Figure out why for yourself. It's not difficult.
You do have a strange point of view, but don't let me burst your personal bubble. This is not Russia and I am not Russian, nor do I own a football club.
"Russian" is merely a place holder. When things are desperate that place holder can hold something else.

It's called socialism. Use the imports to give the indigenous a better life. The imports work, the indigenous claim benefit. Similarly, the imports do the most unattractive jobs while the indigenous do the better ones.
Yup, I realised that.
Far from it really. An obscure example. Go back to lockdowns and people encouraged to go fruit etc picking. Some did. Couple of days later they felt like cripples and gave up.
In any labour force there will be people who wont get a job and also some that can't fill available jobs. Whole host of reasons. Then take E Europeans - more likely to accept low paid jobs but also likely to be young.
An odd aspect about boat people - they have demonstrated a fair amount of gumption. Lots are young. However is that entirely correct. I'd wonder about differences in women working based on things I have noticed. Also language aspects. Their kids are entirely different. A wife many not speak English. In some cases a husband might.
That got them how far exactly? They are 10 generations behind the kebab and takeaway shop owners who never got very far themselves.
Some of them got to be Cabinet Ministers, Prime Ministers, and founders of enormous department stores and clothing chains. In much less than 10 generations.
Please don't allocate anything as hideous as that to me. It is absolutely like nothing I would say.

It's a natural social evolution for parents to have fewer kids as they become better educated, society becomes more affluent, child birth benefits from better health, etc.

It's just been on the news - Foster carers get for 5 to 10 £195, 11 to 15 £242 and they claim not to be able to manage on that. What?
It's seems very generous to me, especially if fostering a few. I used to have a friend, who with his wife, made fostering their lives work. They lived very well indeed on the proceeds of fostering.
