Ukraine counter offensive

A lot of them are air launched, from either Russian, Belarus airspace or over the black sea.
Probably from over Ukraine as well if range reports are correct. This may be why the UK and others are sending anti aircraft guns. We haven't heard much about air superiority of either side for a long time now.

Many missiles are sent from Crimea into Ukraine and Putin is forgetting how the Blitz didn't weaken British resolve to fight, neither did it weaken German determination in WWII, so i doubt it will be any different for Ukrainians over the course of this winter: they'll just dig in and maintain a stoic acceptance that this will be the price for resisting Russian aggression.
A price we share with every weapons consignment sent over there.
That's been raised before - it's not really a good parallel. This isn't Lightning War, and nobody's carpet bombing cities.
Knocking out all the infrastructure is highly relevant to the military - say Ukraine's military has no power, no fuel, no water, and in many ways no transport. Economical devastation also helps Putin. Wherever the Ukranine soldiers go, is a target.

Is anyone accusing the US coalition of widespread war crimes from the 2 gulf wars?
Maybe not so widespread, but quite a few examples...

As exposed by Julian Assange...

And look what has happened to him!

Russia has a nice map of it's infrastructure as well as they installed it all.

Or maybe I should add the majority of it.

Ukraine has reported 70 more missiles 51 shot down. Definitely aimed at taking out power. Only reported on C4 as far as I am aware.

Across the border, Moldova also reported "massive" blackouts, although it has not been directly hit.

Ukraine may have an electical link to them. Shorts on lines cause problems.

The damage in Moldova is easily explained. That same reference:
"Energy policy analyst Sergiu Tofilat said that because Moldova and Ukraine were connected to the European grid in March, one of the connection points on the power line between Moldova and neighbouring Romania shut down automatically if Ukraine was hit to protect the system: "We reconnect once Ukraine has assessed the damage.""

Easy to pop the trips. Moldova can recover from that. Not so easy for Ukraine.

Not sure if "70 more missiles 51 shot down" sounds credible.

Is there going to be a point where Ukraine 's power network is on the floor and they don't have resources to rebuild it?

Shorts on lines cause problems.

The most likely reason for the Moldovian grid to disconnect from the Ukraine grid was that the frequency of the Ukraine grid linked to Moldovia had gone too far out of limits.

The Moldovian grid would have become unstable if the connection to the Ukraine grid had not been disconnected

Normal limits are 49.5Hz to 50.5Hz (+/- 1% )

In some instances of large mismatch between generation and load short term limits ( hours if not minutes ) of 49.20 Hz to 50.80 Hz are tolerated while efforts are made to equalise load to generation,

Are those limits a global constant or do they relate to the UK?

They relate to all the interconnected European grids ( or at least they did a few years ago ) where the interconnect is direct and not involving DC transmission between networks.

We mostly get what Ukraine say. The general idea with missiles seems to be send too many and some will get through. Ukraine have said they are surprised by the accuracy of the substation hits. This strike also hit a hospital. C4's lady who is there unusually commented on that. She effectively wondered why. Missile going astray, or run out of precision missiles. The other options are deliberate or shot down.

Reports say it's a Soviet installed system using Soviet bits. Suggests they also have plans. Last comment about degradations was 50% after the previous hit, I haven't heard any comment so far on the latest hit. The previous hit caused Zelenskyy to ask people who could to leave the country. It seems electricity is often needed for water. Seems some of that has been restored.

Russia's comments. These hits are because Ukraine wont hold talks. A Ukrainian was asked about this, No idea who he was. Reply no talks while we are winning. TBH I feel Russia retreating behind a wide body of water has it's complications. Fighting in the east is said to be fierce and Russia seem to have made gains at the usual slow rate for this style of fighting. Only info though seems to be vis war in Ukraine and at times he's been unsure. Alj have said that reporters are not always being allowed in.

...Ukraine's capital flips to survival mode.
