All I know is I pay £30 pounds a year in car tax and that's for a spacious Deisel saloon. Happy days.

If the ban on ICE vehicles comes into place when suggested, what is the point?
I think the Euro 7 standard is due for 2025/6, we will still be buying a lot of petrol cars and diesel vans then.

How come you only pay £30 car tax
A year ??
Dunno. I'm sure the missus said we can drive it into Brum town centre without invoking the congestion charge. It must be an emissions thing. Conversely my smaller engine van tax costs nearly 10 times that amount.

No emission charge than its euro 6

Crammed in like sardines
Cancellations

Train service is a disgrace in many parts of the country

They were on about the caper on the radio this morning

Seen the M62 at 7:30am? Jammed with traffic, accidents, roadworks, et . Frankly there isn't much in it.

There's going to be such a glut of cars available in August. Even some quite nice 2016 diesels. I've still got on oldie lurking, doing nothing much, which would otherwise have been worth a couple of grand - I'll just scrap it.

The current ULEZ starts about half a mile from my workshop. The new ULEZ will end a mile or so past my house. Hopefully there will still be demand for Diesels in that area so shouldn't have too much trouble selling it. Worse case scenario, I could swap it with my daughter in law - she has a similar age petrol ULEZ exempt Picasso and they are well outside the ULEZ. We only need a second car to run the dog about.

Because of Mr Khant I have to get rid of 2 perfectly maintained cars.
I now know what hate is.
There's at least a dozen people down my street that are in the same boat. I know we have to clean the air up but it would have been much fairer if say, when they announced it, they had given an exemption to all cars already registered in the ULEZ on the day before (but not any registered after) and let them naturally be replaced as and when they expire or people could afford to replace them. A sliding scale perhaps but its too late for all that now. At least it would give people time to plan for a replacement and not lead to a big glut of ULEZ non-compliant cars at the end of August. I'm just peeved that I have to get rid of a perfectly good car and I'm lucky in that I can afford another one but there are thousands of low-paid labour voting workers in the upcoming ULEZ who can't afford to replace them and need them for work. I can imagine the hate and loss of votes Khan will be getting from them. Looks like London is in for a Tory Mayor next time round!
