Doesn't have to be a binary choice though, does it?
Both pure capitalism and pure communism are crap: somewhere between the two is the way forward.
Generate wealth, yet fairly redistribute (some of) it to better the nation as a whole.
Scandinavian-like.

Among the current problems is the dog-whistle of the MSN, making out we're bled dry by the (non-existent) hoards of scroungers. And lapped up by their "readers".
Even if this was the case, isn't that evidence enough that the darlings of the Wail are useless, in that they continue to allow the (non-existent) hoards to stay here, let alone increase?

You're taking a literal approach to texts that are centuries old and require some lateral thinking and a broad understanding.
One of the Gods seemingly wrote it, the blame for ambiguity lies there. How on earth an all knowing thing couldn't have anticipated the problems with it explains it all really.

Captitalism uses wealth as its motivator - get out of bed and work, you'll get more money and can buy more stuff. Lie in bed all day and you'll starve - carrot and stick, it's tough but it works and is largely self-regulating. Not entirely, but it generally incentivises people to work so people produce stuff for themselves and each other, entirely out of self-interest, but the end result is that most people get wealthier, mainly as a result of all that work being done

The free market neoliberalism of the last 12 years has seen wages stagnate, massive increase in poverty….yet at the same time a massive increase in wealth and income of the highest earners.

So your claim most people get wealthier isn’t true

The evidence base for Jesus is pretty weak. Mohammed did much better, but I've no idea on the relative literacy in Judea 0CE Vs Mecca in 500CE.

With inflation exceeding pay rises (at the insistence of our current government) the reverse is true.

We're all just a pile of chemicals. No hocus pocus required.
Yes, but where did the chemicals come from?

It doesn't?
Odds don't be seduced by the Prince of Lies! The ignore button is your friend.

Physics.
It's a pointless question.
You end up getting asked where your god came from.
If you have a god, you needs a god's god, and god's god's god. That silly, so by induction there can't be a god.

Christianity has only the One, so which religion are you talking about now?

Andy 5 million people are not out of work…..you’ve quoted the Spectator, which is basically a right wing mouthpiece, it’s deeply connected to the Tory govt and right wing libertarian lobby groups.

there are lots of people who get benefits: even full time workers.

I'm writing about them all. Thousands of gods, hundreds of bibles.

The one people generally follow depends of their place of birth, not whether it is remotely true.

The rest of your post regards Old Testament teaching so isn't really relevant...
You already seem to have dismissed one half of the Christian one, which includes the ten commandments. The word of God seems to be dismissed when it is politically correct to do so. Much of it is evil, and thought to be wrong now, even by believers.

Christianity, Islam and Judaism spring from the same well: Abraham; so they can be lumped in the same pot, despite their obvious ideological differences. I tend to omit the Old T. from Christianity as Christ founded a New Testament which the Apostles evangelised into western culture.
The way these religions develop through the ages and have to adapt to changes in culture, in politics and human perspective - it looked like God was dead from the moment man landed on the moon but still the beliefs thrive and survive. Why?
