What's your thoughts on Islam, odds ?

Believe it and follow the rules laid down ?
I'm a lapsed Catholic so i don't think i'd make a good Moslem, either.

The Blue Mosque in Istanbul is impressive...

...when you stand beneath that dome and look up it is awe-inspiring.

The flip side used to command the masses is always fear and that has been the predominant emotion governing Western policy towards the Middle east for over 1,000 years. Fear and Faith: Submission to God is the way of Islam...not too dissimilar to the doctrine of Calvin and his troupe of merry misery-guts, eh?

In addition to teaching us what to do when evaluating a claim to knowledge, any good baloney detection kit must also teach us what not to do. It helps us recognize the most common and perilous fallacies of logic and rhetoric. Many good examples can be found in religion and politics, because their practitioners are so often obliged to justify two contradictory propositions.

Imagine living in a country where a well-connected member of the ruling party can fast-track a government contract for £200 million of unusable equipment without competitive tender, and end up with over £60 million of the profits in her family's offshore accounts.

Back on topic (sort of) up here in Scotland our wonderful SNP/Green government has decided kids aged 16 can change their gender. Jeez, they'll do anything to get all the young ones on-side to bolster their chances of winning independence.

Yeah from what I've seen/read, much of what went on stinks. Apparently, some companies with a track record in producing PPE couldn't even get on the procurement ladder, whereas some companies with zero experience in PPE could. Funny that ...

Christianity allows slavery
It promotes it. People are are told what, when and how about owning others. There is also no punishment for beating them, as long as they don't die within a few days. Barbaric book.

Just to check, did you find that in the Christian (New Testament) part of your bible? Where?

Exodus 21 is the main culprit.

New Testament, Ephesians 6:5 and 1 Timothy 6:1.

The main man could have clarified it easily. But he didn't.

When you say 'the main man' i wonder; do you perceive God as a white man with a long white beard dressed in flowing white robes?

Not particularly, no, although similar is mentioned a few times in the book.
