Just got back from a food shop. Bedlam. I only went and done one the other day too. This time, last minute Christmas bits but…..I got it wrong! I’d already bought a Turkey a few weeks ago that will do 11-13 people because we are having all our lot over on Boxing Day. We are on our own for Xmas dinner this year and going over her brothers in the evening. Anyway, she decided that we also needed a small crown just for us so I bought one of those. We had decided to just have 'picky bits' on Christmas Eve. The confusion occurred when on todays shopping list she put 'deli bits' 'paté' and 'crackers'. She was talking about our 'picky bits' Christmas Eve tea but I was thinking of the dozen or so family members coming over on Boxing Day for a late dinner so I bought enough, cheese, crackers, peanuts, pâté, four bean salad, Halkidiki olives, cous cous and feta salad, sausage rolls and slow roasted cherry tomatoes to feed them. Of course when I got back with my haul, she called me a donut and said nobody will want anything much in the evening because they will still be full up from tea! Oh well, another year that we'll be tucking into Christmas food long into January!

Edit: Just looked at the shopping list again and it clearly says: Pâté, crackers, deli bits for picky tea - Christmas Eve. :rolleyes:
 
Early shop at Booths, just made a coffee to listen to Popmaster champions league.had a call from MILs water running out of header tank overflow, popped round and it had subsided to a drip, looks like immersion had boiled then cut out has operated, going back in an hour with some overalls & tools. No sign of the other son in law, never around when something needs fixing.
 
Just got in from an emergency call out. A non paying one - family! My sister had trouble with her Fiesta and nearly got stuck over Lakeside yesterday when she couldn’t turn the worn key in the lock. She managed to wiggle it and after 20 minutes it turned and she could get home. Couldn’t do it again though. She had a spare indoors but when that turned in the lock, she got a 'key not found' message on the dash. It used to work but the remote battery was flat so she got some 12 year old clown from Halfords to fit a new battery and the remote worked but the transponder key stopped working - feck knows what they did to it. I just swapped the fob part on the old key onto the key part of the spare and all good. She just needs to get a new key cut now and the new transponder reprogrammed and she’s all sorted.

He's just taking a breather before he can move on to the second leg over…….I sometimes need a minute or two recovery time myself. ;)

Decided to bin the immersion and fit an oversink water heater in the bathroom, she only has an all over wash now so a full immersion is and wasteful, order the kit from screwfix pick up tomorrow, gives me a project during the hols.
