Rishi claimed he'd stop the boats by the end of 2023, then when questioned on it, he claimed he'd never set a date on it.
They said they'd clear the backlog of asylum claims by the end of 2023. Now they're claiming what they really meant was that they'd start processing them.

I think some posters on here must be writing their scripts for them.

Oooh, look there's a helicoptor.
Or is it a squirrel.

When they said legacy they meant legacy backlog, not backlog backlog. That's leaving to one side the 4500 legacy backlog cases that were reassigned as difficult cases because they were, er, difficult. Starmy's going to absolutely own the tories at the election at this rate. I'd put money on Sunakk bug*ering off to California when he loses

New Labour never got a handle on this either from 1997

So we can’t expect a resolution any time soon

Much worse under the Tories, but let's blame Labour.

Let's blame anybody but who we should
On that basis, IF Labour ever got back into power, we won’t hear any blame being put on the Tories for anything, will we?

A good start to a massive problem.

After a few years ok.

Immediately, or soon after then I would hope most people would understand where the problem arose

You conveniently ignore the massive backlog was created whilst the Conservatives have been in power

You are applauding the Tories begin to reduce the mess they created.

Its a bit like Boris Johnson saying we will increase number of police by 20,000 (conveniently ignoring the Conservatives booted out 24,000 police and over 40,000 workers in the police force in total)

We have a declining birth rate and an ever worsening ratio of working to retired, so not surprisingly govts want immigration, whilst telling the public they are busy cutting numbers.

I thought we were discussing Asylum on this thread.

There are more than enough legitimacy people entering the uk to cover the falling birth rate

How exactly did they create it? the backlog?
rate of processing plummeted under Tories

weve been through this a number of times: toxic home office, high turnover rate of staff, antiquated IT system, etc etc.
