So it just ended up of its own making that Britain went the service industry route and the French and Germans went the way of farming and industry.
Fine.
Fine.
Thanks to Maggie, things really took off for me and many others who had half a brain in the late eighties after the 'big bang'. It was hard in those days not to make money. You would think with the fawning and admiration shown to her she was the second coming of Boudica.
Mottie probably has a picture of her above his fireplace.

Comparing the north to London and the south. Thanks to Maggie, things really took off for me and many others who had half a brain in the late eighties after the 'big bang'. It was hard in those days not to make money.![]()

What profitable industry did we have left?So it just ended up of its own making that Britain went the service industry route and the French and Germans went the way of farming and industry.
Fine.

So your saying we've got the same intensity of farming in the UK as France.Have you never watched Countryfile?
Even a f##ked clock is right, twice a day.............
So your saying we've got the same intensity of farming in the UK as France.
Well we certainly decimated our heavy engineering industry and who does have a high reliance on manufacturing output, oh look it's Germany.About as much as you saying France has no service industry nor industry, to speak of.
Similarly, for Germany.
You just take you prejudice, and mash the keys to suit it.
We paid full price for ours. £32,500 which was a fair bit more than houses were going for in1984 but it came with a workshop and yard which we still own. We sold just the house and garden in 1990 and kept the workshop and yard. I’ve had both a good living and a good rental income on them since then. They are worth quite a bit more than the original purchase price too.Didn't hurt, some getting half-price houses too![]()
I think that neatly sums it up, we’re really good at service industry stuffSo it just ended up of its own making that Britain went the service industry route and the French and Germans went the way of farming and industry.
Fine.
Just had a look, no, no, nowhere have I said they didn't have a service industry, probably be very impractible if they did.
And can Germany and France compete anywhere near to the scale of what the square mile does.
Well we certainly decimated our heavy engineering industry
You keep mashing that keyboard being a smart ar*se.
