Vive La France!

So when you stop a living things heart beat on purpose for it not to be started again then this is killing or what bit of that are you struggling with.
Do dead inanimate things have a heart beat and a circulatory system ?
Do we then move on to euthanasia ? Ever had a pet, or a really ill relative or friend?

It really isn't a simple subject with a yes or no answer, either euthanasia or abortion.

Thats why there are protocols and medical oversights, and legalaties. You think you are ok to decide the rules, without ny input form women on here? Typical arrogant man that knows best !

All arguments regards gestation period, morals, amounts of, when or where are largely irrelevant.

Abortion should be there for women that need it. Not revoked by some right wing religious nutters. There is enough control, legislation, counselling, and advice available.

Let those that wish to terminate their own pregnancy decide.

It’s not a baby

Nor is it conscious

The anti abortion brigade love to focus on the 24 week rule…..like all false arguments, they want to focus on the minority.

Over 90% of abortions are under 12 weeks.

The anti abortion brigade on here have yet to admit making abortion illegal doesn’t lower abortion rates.

I’m not anti abortion. But I don’t kid myself that it is not at some point a destruction of a living thing.

I don’t support a change in the law because 90% occur at 10 weeks and I think this is still very early.

I am not stupid enough to think that a 20 week + abortion does not involve some suffering and trauma.

24 weeks on
You must be relieved to know that aborted pregnancies take place before then.

But according to you the woman should have the right to terminate after this time limit?

I'm genuinely struggling to understand your point of view.

You seem to be outraged against something that isn't happening and championing something that that is at odds with your opinion.

No. Nor have I said otherwise. Perhaps the gestation limit should be shortened a wee bit, I don't know.

I'm congratulating the French on their stance against the idiot RWR in the USA. I think it's commendable. I knew as soon as the post went out that the RWR would jump on it. There are even murmurs amongst the UK's Conservatives, that the UK should follow the USA's lead, ffs.

My stance is that the choice should ALWAYS be that of the pregnant woman and that abortion should be available if she needs it.

You are aware that the U.K. has a more flexible policy and that the service is free?

Nothing has changed in France.
Really? Not very good with UK law are you....

"....abortion is a criminal act in the UK (except Northern Ireland, where it was decriminalised in 2019) if it isn't approved by two medical doctors who have each determined that the impact of continuing with the pregnancy would pose a greater risk to the woman's physical and mental health than if she terminated it....."

Forgive me for not treating Glamour Magazine as a legal reference.

Here is the UK Law for you

You'll note that your quoted text is incomplete. See sec 1 - a-d. and the word OR is used quite a bit.

I can see why you were getting upset now, you didn't understand the current position in the UK.

I'm always happy to help a fellow legal expert

Deciding to have an abortion

The decision to have an abortion is yours alone.
. The law simply requires there to be an assessment.
