Often when clicking on a link, especially to Media articles, one is confronted with the "Register to Continue Reading"

I have found that if you're quick enough, and time it right, you can click on the X, top left of the browser, (as shown),

to stop the offending bits from loading, you can continue reading the article without registering or accepting the ads.
It doesn't work on all sites.

Install brave browser and turn on add blocking.
Mail works fine and my local newspaper website. And I can watch YouTube without adverts and many other benefits

Correct me. Just my understanding although I know people that use incognito mode.
Incognito means the phone or pc blocks tracking and history.
Same adverts and pop-ups.
I never use it as pointless.
Am I wrong?

The mail is going this way in common with others, but the t’s and c’s suggest cookies will be placed anyway.

If you want a free VPN as well then windscribe. 5 free locations and you get UK as one. Free 10gig a month which is plenty. Simple on off button.
I use sometimes on public WiFi if I can't get a mobile signal

I would never trust a 'free' VPN. I use Nord VPN which is £65 for two years. Can be used on 10 devices. Just over £40 if you buy through a cashback site. Roughly 40p a week.

Windscribe is a paid service and good reviews. The free version is limited and limited countries and probably throttled but good enough for a single user on phone at 10gig if you don't stream content too much.
I know what your saying though.
