Reform party fail to win any council bye election seats on Thurs

No, we really don't.

What are they actually offering as policies ?

Be careful, be very careful what you wish for
I've said myself we need to be very careful what we wish for, however the longer we have to endure the current offerings, the more I think even the threat of Reform is needed to make the others buck their ideas up

I hope you're correct, but look at where Remain complacency left us........
Yea, but Reform can only win if people switch wholescale from the Tories. There is a tipping point which turns percentage of the vote into actual seats in parliament. Can they do that? Brexit was won by people believing the lies, if they do it at a GE, who knows what might happen.

Funnily enough, Trump and Musk turning against Nige could be his biggest problem.

I'm sure that the Democrats recently did the same type of authoritative analysis.

Worryingly nowadays though, there are apparently enough who don't know, don't care, who have little and believe the bullshoite, who can and do carry the sway, come voting time.

True dat. The new kind of stupid is worryingly scary.

Not sure that's comparable, Democrats vs Republican is similar to Labour Vs Tory. A breakthrough by a fringe UK party would need a sea change in voting patterns. Not impossible, but unlikely.

You've missed the point.

By any reasonable metric, the Dems had it in the bag. Or so they thought.

They didn't factor in people voting in their millions, with an almost messianic devotion, for a rambling, lying felony with cognitive issues.

Even bare-faced and proven lies were brushed off.

No, I get the point, I think, that opponents can be underestimated and voters can do stupid things.

But the Republicans winning was similar to Major's unexpected win. A small fringe party winning is a whole different league of people doing silly things. Farage becoming PM is much more unlikely than Trump winning was.
