Yep I saw that version. I wonder if it will emerge that a roadblock wasn’t blocked.
The whole city centre was closed to traffic from yesterday morning. However, being the city centre there are dozens of car parks (public and residential) and loads of on street parking. If you'd parked your car in the city on Sunday night onwards, you would have been inside the closed/blocked roads.

Most people were sensible enough to simply not drive their cars while the streets were full of people.

It seems something that got totally out of hand and escalated beyond all comprehension rather than a complete nutjob or deliberate action to cause carnage. It looked to of ended with the driver being in fear of his own life, rightly or wrongly.

.
Funny you in particular should mention that...

If they didn't release the details, then it would be a field day for right wing racist nutters...

As history tells us!

Remember Southport?
So what will happen with every mass attack from now on? Will we hear the ethnicity/status/nationality/colour of the alleged attackers immediately and every 5 minutes on the news? Seems that like you, they are rejoicing in telling us it’s a white British male at the centre of things.

It is looking more and more that way.

He would have been stopped and arrested before he got anywhere near a crowd.
But hopefully in UK, an arrest would have been attempted not an assassination.
Assassination is better than a slap on the wrists. They generally don't commit the same offence again by assassination.

If they weren't familiar with the area, that could be an easy mistake to make.
Maybe, but reports say the guy was from Liverpool…I would assume therefore that he would know that road and that it leads to the waterfront.

Also all the people heading towards him might be a sign there was a big crowd of people in the area ahead.

right wing nutjobs

The same morons who trot out the old ****** such as "Are you staring at my bird?" or "Did you spill my pint?"

They're just desperate to kick off, and just as desperate to invent a "justification" for doing so.
