I have had a washing machine and tumble drier plugged into a double socket fed by a 13A FCU for 26 years. Never felt either get hot or blow a fuse even when both on together ( although that is a rare occurence).High current loads like, washing machines, must be plugged in to a single socket not a double. Read this.
