Todays Police are next to useless unless your speeding or parked on double yellows.

Not even that around here. Police don't bother motorists any more - nearest you'll get is spotting a camera van every 5 or 6 months. They don't even seem to bother with the Xmas drink driving purges any more. I'm out and about quite a bit at night and very rarely see any police.

I contrast this with mid 80s when I had my first motorbike. It was night and I pulled away from my kerbside parking space and forgot to put my lights on because it was a brightly lit area. Only got about 40 feet before plod pulled me over and made me see the error of my ways. Wouldn't ever happen now.

I briefly worked at Portbury Docks years ago. A docker had his motorbike stolen. He phoned local Old Bill to tell them he could see his bike through the fence at the members of the poor, opressed-minority, misunderstood travelling folk's site. He asked them if they could visit and retrieve it for him. They weren't interested at all, until he said in that case he would visit with a couple of dozen of his mates from the docks. Cops got it back for him in a flash.

Meanwhile actual murderers, rapists and drug dealers are let off the hook to make space in our bulging prisons for a woman having a childish emotional outburst.
It's almost sexist when you think about it.
