The police in this country are not not fit for purpose. A female friend was burgled whilst house-sitting for someone, they stole the car. Two weeks later they came back and tried to break in whilst she was alone in the house. She phoned the bill who said sorry we can't send anyone out unless it's an emergency!

They advised her to go downstairs and put the telly on to scare them off, I'm pretty sure they got that idea from Home Alone.

The reality is you have to use the right language for it to fall into the category of an emergency which they deem requires an urgent blues and twos response. Even though it might involve a little colouring in.

My favourite is those who post "Israeli get out of jail free cards" or "we use the holocaust as a trick" quotes to stir hatred towards jews and Israelis while at the same time crying how they find racism so abhorrent.

It's a good job hate speech like this gets punished. I wouldn't want to be posting this kind of thing on say a public internet forum.

Todays Police are next to useless unless your speeding or parked on double yellows. Apparently they police by consent but mostly they have lost the confidence of the public. In fact I wonder if you could charge them with breaking the trades description act?

I've always told my wife and daughter to, in that sitch, tell the rozzers, "OK, I have my grandad's Webley pistol from the war, so I'll shoot them". I'm serious.

I had all my fishing tackle stolen about 30 years ago, over £2k back then. Had to go to plod for a crime reference number for insurance. I asked what the chances were for getting it back, he just laughed.
