I heard "Whoa, whoa, WHOA!" on my way in to Sainsbury’s this morning just after an 'orrible crunching/scraping sound. I looked back and saw a car stuck on the bollard. It was still there, locked up and with a steering wheel lock on it when I came out! Totally f*cked the wheel arch. Wouldn’t surprise me to see a rear bumper there if I went back later.

Most people would be embarrassed enough to move it forward after.

Nah sod that it aint gonna get any better the sooner I move it - them burgers for my BBQ at the weekend wont be there much longer

I did something similar in a car park I had a Citroen Picasso that had a high sides and forgot that I parked next to bollard and turned into it as I pulled out to to the left it was lower than the side of the car so didn’t see it.

Its not that bad....it will polish out easily!

You've gotta watch high sided vehicles.

I was driving a 7.5 tonner in Devon through a little village and this ancient thatched cottage had part of the first floor that was overhanging the ground floor.

It was Summer, windows down and there was a yell of "STOP!" from a pedestrian.

Just in time....if I'd carried on, I'd have caught the corner of the building.

Apparently, there should have been a post in the ground to drive around, but it was flattened the week before.

I once drove over a broken concrete bollard that I had parked next to in the morning when I arrived for work and then forgot about when I went home in the dark. Left an unfortunate hole in the bottom.

I did that once, long ago, driving into my garage, nose first. The door is just wide enough, then either side on the inside of the door, I have two banks of heavy, steel storage shelves. I drive in, then turn the wheel sharp left, once I have judged I am clear of my shelves, leaving lots of space to get in and out of the car, but only a few mm gap from the shelves. I misjudged it one day, scraping the rear, nearside wheel arch. I immediately added some pipe insulation to the full height of the angle iron of the shelves. I still sometimes hit the shelves, but it does no damage, rather I hear a squeal from contact with the pipe insulation.

Best way out of that, to minimise damage, is to jack the car rear end up, then push it sideways, down off the jack, away from the post.

Never scraped a car until I got this midget's tax compliant focus.
Now I squeeze it in the tiniest gaps, once I even got out from the boot.
Lime bikes in a parking spot? No problem, they get pushed over or run over.
Somehow I like this carefree motoring.
I can now park right on supermarket doorstep instead of the far corner of the car park.
And tie things to the roof without bothering with roof bars...

Same here. Our old diesel Golf, non compliant but I got around that, can be parked anywhere without fear of knocks or scratches. I’ve filled it with soil and transported so many paving stones that the arse was almost on the deck. This was my longest load so far - free wood collected in one hit and driven over to the allotment. A proper workhorse. Yeah, probably an illegal load but as some on here are fond of reminding me, I DON'T CARE. :ROFLMAO:
