What with Starmy's 'deal' with the French to return migrants, I thought I’d keep a tally of the arrivals to see how things go. Can someone let me know the total of send backs each week under the new arrangement.

Arrived 10 July. 573. Total in 573
Arrived 11 July. 353. Total in 926
Arrived 12 July.

It'll take some time to have any effect, until then we have no control of the numbers.

OMG, it's working already. The numbers have dropped by 220 in one day. That's a drop of more than a third.

Do you have a special book and different colour pens, like a cricket scorer?

Do you think that 50 per week will make any difference whatsoever, bearing in mind they will just be swapped for a different 50?

Probably not, hopefully it is a starting point.

If that works, we should increase the deterrent. Let’s say everyone that arrives can get sent to, say, Rwanda for processing. Do you think that would work? Would that be a starting point?

I've said all along we should have off shore processing. I don't think we need to go as far as that.

If you process them in Calais and they get a 'no' they’re straight on the beach for an illegal crossing attempt. Process tgem far away and if it’s a 'no', give them the choice to stay there or be repatriated to their home country.

Then we can return them immediately with French cooperation. They'll soon get fed up and run out of money.

So you don't like Reform's policy of taking them back to France?
