Just started getting some quotes for a new car we are thinking of buying. So far the best offer is 10.8% off the retail price. That seems a lot. Anyone bought from them before? How did it go?

Dont get sucked in by Carwow. My family's business absolutely refuse to liaise with the disreputable lot. Notice they said 'retail price' when there are no official retail prices in the UK. The overall RPI was replaced during 2023 by the CPI, so done get sucked in.

I used Carwow to dispose (if that's the correct term) of my 65 Plate Skoda Yeti, Outdoor, 2 litre CR diesel. 45k, perfect, no history but many receipts.
I bought it in the January with 19 miles on the clock - pre registered. It cost me 19 grand (maybe a little more - no records). Purchased in the January.
I was looking for a Toyota Yaris Cross hybrid, 4WD, no interest in the colour.
Carwow gave me 12k for the Yeti (I was expecting around 8k.) A local (Durham) dealer bought it and it was on the forecourt for a week at 14k.
Carwow put me in touch with Stoneacre Toyota in Sunderland, offering me a 72 plate 4WD Yaris for 28k. Listed at £32k but with 1600 miles.
For the first time in my life, I feel I got a good deal from the motor trade!

Poss because new car prices are stoopidly over-inflated. Tens of thousands for ordinary little hatchbacks. They're having a laugh. Still I suppose all the unnecessary bells and whistles on modern cars needs paying for.

Rant over!

Eh? All car manufacturers of cars give you the retail price of whatever model you are buying. Didn't buy through them, they just get various dealers to give you their best price and you them go to the dealer and buy through them. Saved me nearly £7k off of retail.

Same here. (y)

I haven't used Carwow, but my impression after looking in to them and their business model a bit, is that it's a decent and respectable business.

Saves you phoning all round the country. Carwow charge the dealers for a service (think of them as the Rightmove of the motor trade), you put in what car you are looking for, that goes out to the dealers and they give their best price. If you go ahead, you deal directly with the dealer.
