PCP vs Cash when buying a car question.

Having driven one set at regen level 3, there’s hardly any need to touch the brakes at all when stopping, such is the force of the drag. Level 1 is much gentler but obviously doesn’t charge as much. There is an auto setting too where the car decides based on your driving style.
Did you buy the car or is it not too late to show you the huge mistake you are making?

In your shoes, I'd have bought a used EV.
It’s all about personal choice. This was about the only car we both liked. I did think of getting a plug-in version instead of the self charging one. About another £2.5k, no room for a spare and I'd need to get a proper house charger fitted, another £1k and we wouldn’t save that much in the time we plan to have it along with the fact that I CBA with plugging the thing in every night to get the benefit of a 35ish mile range. I’m not ready for a full EV yet.

no that is the worst of both worlds.

Well, we're happy enough with our choice and at the end of the day that’s all that matters to us.

It does. which is why I was reluctant to spoil it ;)

end of the day, you know more about cars than I do.

I had an ex-SIL who could turn a £20k car in to a £30k car by going for all the insurances - salesman's dream.

finance that wasn't needed (y)
gap insurance (y)
extra warranty (y)
tyre and wheels insurance (y)
special polish (y)
etc.
I had none of that. I got a £42k car for £35,548 with a £400 ceramic paint coating and an interior scotchguard thrown in. Oh, I did take out a bit of finance to get that deal - £4K which triggered a £2k deposit contribution from the manufacturer. Without that, it would have been a straight cash purchase costing £37,548. I could pay it off after a month or two but even if I don’t, the total interest over two years comes to £202. Funnily enough, in the blurb I got with the finance agreement, it tells me the commission the dealer gets from the manufacturer for arranging this loan. £200. :ROFLMAO:
